Meet Our 2024 Ambassadors!
Jennifer 2024
Jennifer was born and raised in the UP and wouldn’t have it any other way! She’s a true outdoor enthusiast and is outside more often than not. She currently lives in Bessemer, MI with her husband, son, dog and their two cats. Jennifer currently works for an accounting firm and often travels for work including places like Alaska and California. Some of her favorite activities include mountain biking, kayaking, fishing, and exploring haunted places across the US! Jennifer is a part of a mountain biking club, called the Sisu Dirt Crew. She loves Beth Millner Jewelry because of her love for nature, the UP, and locally made items.
Nadine 2024
Nadine lives in Skandia, MI with her fiancé and dogs, a husky and Great Dane mix. Her hobbies include painting, making polymer clay jewelry, reading, writing, and, of course, shooting billiards with her pool league! Nadine also used to work as a consultant at a jewelry store, so it’s no surprise she has such an appreciation for handcrafted jewelry. Currently, Nadine is recovering from a heart procedure done to correct her heart conditions known as IST and POTS, but she is really looking forward to getting back into the jewelry business once she’s been given the clear!
Previous Ambassadors
Jill 2024
I'm a Marquette girl, born and raised! I'm an outdoors enthusiast, lover of all our local coffee shops, dog mama, local public school teacher and performing artist.
I am a proud alumna of Northern Michigan University with degrees in theater performance and communication studies. I have experience working at NMU's Marketing department as a news release writer. I am a certified K-8 teacher and am currently working towards my master's degree in K-8 reading at NMU. In my free time, I love nothing more getting out for a hike with my fur baby, Jack, or cozying up with warm coffee & a good book.
Chelsea 2023
I'm a Bookseller at Snowbound Books and Outreach Coordinator for Brogan & Yonkers PC, where I regularly interact with the community. I'm a runner, painter, reader, and outdoor enthusiast. I volunteer and participate in various events with UPLC, the NTN, Two Books Two Communities, the U of M alumni group. I participate in Queen City's pub runs and show up to nearly all running events in Marquette, as well as throughout the U.P. with the Run the U.P. Challenge. Beth Millner Jewelry reflects this love of the U.P., and the shared connections to nature and artistry -- I can see wearing and talking about these pieces authentically through all of these activities and involvement (as I already do with my current March pendant!).
Lauren 2023
My name is Lauren Korpi and I love to adventure and be involved in community activities. Every day I try to pack full with fun activities I have a wonderful circle of active friends who are also passionate about the outdoors and building community. I have a wonderful partner named Jess and we have two fur babies, dogs named Taylor and Buddy.
I am a passionate skier, alpine and nordic, biker, hiker, runner and snowshoer. I am a physical education and health teacher at the Wakefield-Marenisco School and I own a fitness studio in town called NRG Fitness where I teach 6 classes a week.
Cammy 2023
Cammy is a born and raised Yooper who graduated high school and college in Marquette. She loves living here, trying new food, and exploring new places. She works as an optician and loves the fashion and fun of wearing glasses and helping patients find their perfect pair. In her free time she enjoys listening to local musicians, kayaking, exploring trails and waterfalls, painting, and being with friends and family. When asked about her favorite BMJ pieces, she said “I love the pendants that are are Marquette/UP specific. I’ve been following Beth’s art for so long, I love every piece. The style is so unique.”
Rebecca 2023
Rebecca is a returning BMJ ambassador who worked with us in 2019. She was born downstate, but moved to Houghton in 2007 for grad school and hasn’t left the UP since. She teaches high school English in L’Anse and is a published author. She is currently working on her second novel. She’s also an avid knitter, traveler, and serves on her library’s advisory board. When asked what her favorite BMJ piece is, Rebecca said, “Don’t make me choose! But I think the Celestial Lovers Reversible Pendant. I love the mixed metals on the piece, and the moon detail is just amazing. My dad’s an amateur astronomer and I’ve got wonderful memories of laying out at night in this field behind our house with him looking at the sky.”
Lexi 2022
Lexi is a recent Northern Michigan University grad who's new job in the phlebotomy field will have her traveling to several states from her home in Northern Wisconsin. She told us, "I am a huge lover of the outdoors and spend all my free time hiking, swimming, gardening, and downhill skiing. I am also very fond of art. I enjoy painting, drawing, and visiting art museums."
Grace 2019, 2022
Grace is a returning ambassador also from Northern Wisconsin! Since her last ambassadorship, she's taken over her own chiropractic practice, but she still finds time to enjoy the great outdoors. When asked why she enjoys BMJ, she said, "I absolutely love the CONNECTION this jewelry gives me to the outdoors and to nature. I love to spend my free time with my Husband, Daughter, Golden Retriever Kenai and my newly adopted Irish Setter Red outside!"
Amber 2022
I’d like to first introduce myself; my name is Amber Aldridge and I’m originally from a tiny town located in the UP named Ironwood. I would also like to call a small town also located in the UP named Marquette one of my homes as well. I spent quite a few years in Marquette and I’ve met so many amazing and inspiring people that I now call good friends, but besides those little facts about me I also want to discuss everything I loved about the UP and everything I love about living here in Utah and the year beforehand living in Colorado.
Kristen 2019, 2022
This summer I was chosen to become a brand ambassador for Beth Millner Jewelry. What a treat! I’ve long admired Beth’s jewelry because, for this Yooper, what’s not to like? All of her pieces are nature-themed, and many of them are inspired by real places in the UP. In addition, she uses eco-friendly practices like using recycled copper from a local mine, and she also offers “fundraiser jewelry” where a portion of the jewelry sales are donated to non-profit organizations.
