Mixed Metals | ♻
Beth's signature line of mixed metal jewelry is primarily made of sterling silver, copper, and brass. Beth's mixed metal designs tend to be a fan favorite and are very popular with customers. Her background in painting inspires her to make colorful scenes with layers of different metals. Mixed metal jewelry allows you to easily feel coordinated even when wearing multiple pieces of jewelry made of different metals.
Using mixed metals allows for a variety of colors on the jewelry without the use of pigment. Most of our mixed metal pieces have been given a patina to darken the details. This makes each metal color show up more dramatically and gives a lovely contrast. Most mixed metal pieces are made by soldering multiple layers of metal together to create landscapes and shorelines. The process of soldering is when two metals are joined together with a filler metal that has a lower melting point than the pieces being joined. Hand fabrication is inherent to mixed metal jewelry because each part must be created then connected, unlike solid silver pieces which may be cast using the lost wax casting process.
Sterling Silver | ♻
Sterling silver is one of our favorite materials. Our unique handmade sterling silver jewelry is eco-friendly, meaning the metal is recycled. We work with suppliers that ensure our stock metal comes from repurposed silver. The silver is refined at US-based suppliers and then shipped to us in the form of sheet, wire or casting grain. We also melt most of our scrap silver created from fabrication down and recast it into new jewelry with the remainder silver scraps being sent back to our US supplier for further refining and recycling once a year. We pride ourselves in the recycled content of the silver jewelry.
Sterling silver oxidizes and changes color over time. When wearing your silver jewelry, you may find that it takes on a more polished finish. If you would prefer your piece to have a brushed finish, you can simply refinish it with steel wool. To do this, simply place it on a flat surface and rub in a circular motion. If you would prefer a more shiny finish, simply use a silver polishing cloth to rub the metal to a bright finish.
Gold | ♻
We work with palladium white gold, yellow gold and rose gold of varying karats, all the gold we use is recycled. The palladium white gold is the most durable metal we works with, followed by yellow gold and then rose gold.
