Welcome to another Michigan Made Monday blog post, where we highlight a different Michigan based artisan, crafter, farmer or farm-to-table restaurant. This week's feature is The Sweet Water Cafe in Marquette, Michigan.
We chose the Sweet Water Cafe for their use of fresh, local and organic ingredients, as well as their support of local artists with rotating displays of art, available for purchase. Many of you probably don't know that Beth was actually a waitress at the Sweet Water Cafe for almost 2 years while going to college. In fact, in her last year of college she took a big leap of faith and left the safety of working at the cafe to launch Beth Millner Jewelry from her home. To this day, it is still one of her (and the rest of the staff's) favorite local restaurants.
Here are a few reasons why:
An emphasis on using fresh, local and organic ingredients for their diverse, multicultural cuisine menu. The Sweet Water prides itself on supporting local farmers and one can always find local ingredients throughout their menu.
Delicious, mouth watering baked from scratch breads and sweets treats.
One of the best breakfasts in town.
A 6 week rotation of local art on the walls, available for purchase. The Sweet Water Cafe is also a vendor at the Farmer's Market on Saturdays, selling their baked goods.
We highly recommend visiting (or revisiting) this great restaurant, located on Third St in Marquette.
